International Training Workshop on Climate Change and Water Safety Effects along CPEC (April 09-14, 2025)

We are delighted to welcome you to the International Training Workshop on Climate Change and Water Security Impacts along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), jointly organized by China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC) and Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS).

The United Nations has designated 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Preservation to highlight the pivotal role of glaciers, snow, and ice in Earth’s climate system and hydrological cycles, as well as their profound socioeconomic and environmental implications. Leveraging CPJRC’s expertise in cryosphere monitoring and disaster risk reduction, this workshop delivers specialized training on cryosphere science and water resource research for professionals from CPEC area countries and Hindu Kush-Himalayan (HKH) regions, aiming to advance regional collaboration in science and education, and foster regional capacity for sustainable development.

To ensure a productive learning environment, please adhere to the following protocols, your active participation will contribute to global efforts in combating climate change.

  1. Punctuality: Arrive 10 minutes prior to courses. For absences, notify the
    Workshop organizers via email at least 24 hours in advance.
  2. Session Etiquette: Silence electronic devices and minimize disruptions
    during lectures.
  3. Interactive Engagement: Foster respectful dialogue during discussions,
    embracing diverse academic perspectives. Abide by the laws of Pakistan
    and respect the customs and habits in Pakistan.
